Nicole Estrada is a licensed marriage and family therapist in both Oregon and California. She grew up in Southern California where she received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with an Interdisciplinary Minor in Human Sexuality from California State University Northridge (2004). She received her Master of Arts in Psychology with a specialization in co-occurring disorders (2007). Her client population is diverse in terms of cultural, social, and ethnic background.
These clients include families, couples, children,teens, individual adults, groups, and mandated clients. Services are currently provided for individuals,couples, and families ages 12 and older. Nicole has worked with individuals and families who face challenges of trauma, blended families, parenting issues, grief and loss, body dissatisfaction, mood disorders, human sexuality issues, and drug and alcohol disorders. Nicole utilizes a holistic approach to mental health. Her therapeutic approach is based on establishing a genuine, collaborative, trusting relationship with clients. This enables her clients to express their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment and leads to greater insight and positive life changes.
The therapeutic framework utilized is both cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and strength based approach. When Nicole is out of the office she enjoys traveling, cooking, Zumba, playing with her dog, cultural activities, exploring Oregon, and spending quality time with friends and loved ones. Nicole has office hours Tuesday thru Friday with evening hours available. New patient assessment appointments are approximately ninety minutes and weekly therapy appointments are fifty minutes based on assessed needs.
