She holds a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from George Fox University (2008) as well as a Bachelors Degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from Oregon State University (2005). Her experience includes providing clinical counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Particular areas of interest include trauma, attachment, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, and addiction. She is skilled in Attachment-Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Amanda considers it an honor to work alongside others as they navigate the journey toward healing and change. Her hope is to help improve emotional health as a part of overall wellness. She believes that each person has a unique set of needs, life experiences, and strengths that deserve a tailored counseling approach. What may work for one person in therapy might not work for another. Her objective is to help identify and work toward therapeutic goals at a comfortable pace in a way that best fits each person. These may include building self-awareness and understanding, improving skills to deal with life’s difficulties, exploring and working through past hurts, and repairing and strengthening relationships.
Amanda is a native Oregonian and believes in striving toward a full, balanced life. She enjoys spending down time with her family and friends. Interests include reading, cooking, nutrition, and fitness (running, hiking, weight lifting). She is always on the lookout for sunshine and a great cup of coffee.
